November 2020
Message from the Principal, Ms. Romo
October was a busy month for staff and students at Cactus Middle School. Students were busy completing assignments and projects as our first quarter came to an end. Teachers were busy finalizing grades, meeting with parents for virtual parent-teacher conferences, and getting their classrooms ready for students to return to campus on October 26th. Our front office staff and admin team were also busy getting ready for students to return. We worked hard to ensure our students would be able to come back to school safely with the different measures we put in place.
It has been great to see students back on campus. They are the reason we do what we do, their smiling faces (behind their masks, of course) and excitement to be back on campus has been great to see.
November will be another busy month as we steadily make our way through the second quarter. During this month I usually take time to reflect on things that I am thankful for. As always I am thankful for family, friends, my health, and a job that I love. This year I am also thankful for the community that I live in, and the support that they have shown as we have navigated a very unique school year.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving full of family, food and laughter!
Message from the Nurse: Valorie Dukat
My name is Valorie Dukat and I am your school nurse. I am excited to take care of you throughout the school year. If you have any medical concerns, stop by my office and we can figure it all out. However, please remember the nurse's office is for medical needs only, as we do not want to interrupt your school learning time. I care about each and every one of you and want to help you stay healthy! Please remember to keep your mask on, practice social distancing, wash your hands with soap and water, and care about one another. Let’s have a fantastic school year!!
Reminders
Masks are required to be worn by anyone visiting the Cactus Campus. Thank you for helping keep everyone safe! We are excited to be back!

Silver Days: Tuesday's and Friday's
Students that are returning on a hybrid schedule will come to campus two days a week. On the days they are not on campus, they should fill out the academic lab daily check-in form the AL teacher sent students. Students will work independently on assignments in their Google Classrooms. There were new Google Classrooms for your child to log into on Monday morning, based on new schedules.
On the days students are not on campus, they will not attend any Zoom lessons, with the exception of Wednesday, when they will attend Academic Lab virtually from 10:00-10:40. They will also be able to contact their teachers during office hours on Wednesday through Zoom from 1:00-1:30.
