Fourth Grade News!
May 22-26...What's going on this week in 4th grade?
This and That!
HAPPY LAST FULL WEEK OF FOURTH GRADE!
We have had a great year with this group of students. Thank you for all the support and encouragement you have shown us and your children throughout the year. The students are ready for fifth grade (even if we want them to stay young!). The students will be meeting their fifth grade teachers before school lets out....either late this week or on Tuesday (May 30) morning. All three teachers are rock stars so you are in for another great year!
Science Challenge Night is in the books.....The students worked hard and had a fun time working as a team of engineers. Each student has pictures that were taken throughout the last two weeks to show their work. They also have a copy of their write up! Thanks for all who came out to view their hard work!
Our Fourth Grade Play Date will be Tuesday, May 30th, We will head over to Dooley Park around 10:45. The second and third grade will be finishing up their play time around 11:00 so there will be some carry over. We are looking forward to meeting some of our new fourth graders to be! A BIG THANK YOU TO PTO FOR COVERING THE COST OF THE JUMP HOUSE ! Instead of both groups getting their own jump house we are getting one and PTO has agreed to cover the cost for the fourth grade time! Those who donated money will be getting it back early next week! Thank you, PTO and Mrs. Jacobs for helping with this :)
For the final quarter, students' AR goal will be 20 points. In the past this is the number that fifth grade starts with and we want them ready for what will be expected!
This week, any student not having 14 of their 20 points will stay in during our extra recess time at the end of the day to work on their reading.
THE FINAL DAY FOR AR POINTS WILL BE MAY 25TH
Students are still able to purchase bagged snacks during STUDY HALL time. The cost will be 50 cents. Students will be responsible for keeping their money safe during the day.
