Principally Speaking...
It's 4th quarter and things are hopping here at the SAGE Center! It has been a great year so far! We look forward to working through the last quarter of the school year with our Illuminators!
Please stay on the look out for a parent survey that will be coming in a couple of weeks from SAGE. We are seeking parent input on several topics within the survey and would certainly appreciate your thoughts and ideas. More information to come...
Also, be watching for emails and flyers that may be coming from your child's SAGE teacher about special dates, events, and due dates for our SAGE students through the end of the year. As always, feel free to contact your child's SAGE teacher with questions or clarifications.
Have a great April! Thank you for all you do for supporting the SAGE Center!
Your Partner in Education,
~Dr. Marsden

SAGE Student Spotlight
Risk Taking
Charlie always has a positive attitude when it comes to trying new things. She dives in with little trepidation. She is open to critique and uses that feedback to better her work.
Will can frequently be heard saying positive affirmations when he is taking risks. He has an incredible growth mindset and is always eager to try new and difficult things.
Stella has persevered through many challenging situations. These risk-taking opportunities have boosted her confidence and her willingness to try new things. She has a positive attitude and is ready to take on new experiences.
Dylan has embraced a positive attitude toward taking risks and overcoming fear of the unknown. He continues to open up, take ownership and trust himself that he can do challenging things. His growth is something to be proud of!
Ayden is always willing to try something new. If he encounters difficulty, he figures out what the problem is and keeps trying. He welcomes and seeks feedback on his projects. He is always looking for ways to improve and come up with an even better solution. When he’s working with other students, he is always encouraging and supportive. He seeks compromise and positive outcomes for all.
Sterling is a natural leader and brings passion and joy to the projects she is involved with. She always has a ready smile and tries to find the path forward with a smile when she hits a problem. She is responsible and a go-getter!
Melissa loves to see projects come to life and really jumps in with both feet. She works hard to make projects come to fruition, even if that means she works after school, as well. She loves to learn new things, and that is what makes her a wonderful risk taker!
Office Updates
Safe Footwear at SAGE:
- As the weather is slowly beginning to warm up, this will bring students wearing shorts, t-shirts, and sandals. Because of health and safety reasons, students are encouraged to wear shoes or sandals with a closed toe and a back strap, especially for recess at the elementary level.
- Flip flops are discouraged during the school day as many students have to walk the stairs to get to their destination.
Arrival / Dismissal Procedures:
- Car riders who are dropped off or picked up from the SAGE Center should enter and exit from the South double doors of the Center. Please ring the door bell for admittance.
- Students who ride the bus will be delivered and dismissed through the lower level bus loop. Please avoid this area when visiting the SAGE Center. All car riders should enter through the South door of the Center - near the 1st floor circle drive.
