Attacks on 9/11

Ashley Graves

What is 9/11?

On September 11th, 2001 there was a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks. The attacks were preformed by an Islamic group, Al-Qaeda. The attacks were suicide attacks used to target symbolic U.S. landmarks. Four passenger airlines were hijacked from the U.S. east coast and were bound to California. Two of the Four planes were flown into the world trade centers. The thirds plane was crashed into the pentagon and the fourth plane was planned to go to Washington D.C., but crashed in Pennsylvania. The attacks happened, because AL-Qaeda were allegedly acting in retaliation for America's support of Israel.

Perspective #1

As soon as the first attack happened the news media jumped in hands on to try and inform everyone of what was going on. Everyone was going crazy and asking why this was happening to us. They we're wondering who could possible do this to us, and what was going through their minds to do this. The news media instantly thought of the Islamic groups and them wanting to get back at the U.S because they didn't like the things we do so, they did this to get back at us.

Perspective #2

As the second plane was hitting the tower, any one and everyone was trying to show up at the scene to capture what was happening. Civilians, news reporters, emergency crews and more we're trying to capture what was happening for evidence and to figure out who would do this. People had ideas of it being the Russians, North Koreans, or even Al-Qaeda.

Media Bias

The people in the media change peoples words often to sound better or worse. They like to make things more dramatic whether its more negative or positive. The media has taken what people say to say what will get them the most viewers. They don't care about the people they are hurting they just want to get the best story and compete against other news sources. The news media will do anything and everything to get a good story line.

Cultural Criticism

When the Islamic group AL-Qaeda claimed the attacks of 9/11 that changed the face of the Islamic group forever. Now when everyone hears about the Islamic people they always think that they are going to hurt someone of try to hurt our country again. When people see Islamic people in public they are always getting weird looks and people always yell at them even though they aren't a part of the group they are just part of the religion.

Historical Criticism

Throughout our history there have been groups of people in the middle east that do not like the U.S and what to hurt us. We have always called them terrorist even the people that are not from the groups that want to hurt us. We think everyone in the middle east is trying to kill us or want to hurt our countries we are part of so that we don't treat those people the same as we do in the U.S.
