Spartan Learning: June 1-4

June 1-4, 2020

Last Edition of Spartan Learning

This week brings us to our last week of school for Imlay City Schools students with our official last day being Thursday, June 4. While these last 12 weeks have been very different, we are so proud of our students and staff for their work and effort. It has been a whirlwind of new ways of teaching, new ways of communicating, and new ways of learning for everyone. There have been challenges and frustrations that none of us could have ever expected or anticipated. However, throughout it all, our Spartan family kept trying their best to move forward given the tools and resources available.

We know there are many questions left unanswered about what August/back-to-school will bring. We want to assure you that while there is not a written plan published for that as of now, our district administration and staff have been actively planning and considering different possibilities. As you may know, the state has put together a task force called the "Return to Learn Advisory Council." This team will include experts in health care and education as well as students, educators, and families to think about how to return to learning, safely, in the fall. As we await the guidelines from the state, we continue to consider and plan for possible scenarios. As we continue to prioritize timely and strong school-to-home communication, we will absolutely share plans with our Spartan family as soon as we possibly can.

For now, we wish all of our students a great last week of school. We are hopeful that you all will have a wonderful summer and that you all stay healthy and safe. As always, we will be available for any questions you may have. Please feel free to continue reaching out to your child's building principal with your questions. All learning links will remain on our district website for continued use, as you would like, throughout the summer months.

As always, it's truly our pleasure to be trusted with the education of your child(ren). #ICSpartanPride #ICSuccess
