Memory Palace

Why?
Memory is a very interesting and complicate concept. The idea of finding a way to conquer memory in a way that it is not difficult to you to remember something is very appealing to me. Its a very useful technique for everybody and me. I have usually a very hard time to remember things and the Memory Palace is a very good way to help me remember things. It also can help everybody else in different ways. From the President by helping him remember a speech to a high school teen remember a test answers.
What is the Memory Palace?
The Memory Palace(method of loci) is a technique created in ancient Rome and Greek that enables the user to remember things easily by creating a very visual image to help recall information in an organize way. It can be use to remember faces, images, numbers, words etc... Intelligence is optional. You only need to be creative, the more creative the better. The way it works is to imaging a place and different people and things in it and just associate every piece of information to anything or person in your memory palace. When you remember the people and/or things it would be very easily to recall the information.
The Brain
By studying the brain of "superior memorizers" it can be seen what the brain does during this process. While using the memory palace technique the regions of the brain involved in spatial awareness are activate. This include the medial parietal cortex, retrosplenial cortex, and the right posterior hyppocampus.
Research and Studies
John O' Keefe and Lynn Nadel refer to the memory palace as:
the subject memorizes the layout of some building, or the arrangement of shops on a street, or any geographical entity which is composed of a number of discrete loci. When desiring to remember a set of items the subject 'walks' through these loci in their imagination and commits an item to each one by forming an image between the item and any feature of that locus. Retrieval of items is achieved by 'walking' through the loci, allowing the latter to activate the desired items.
