Higlights of the Week.
* "Miss Manners" (a.k.a Ms. Ruina) made an appearance in Kindergarten. After a short lesson about what school was like for children in the U.S. a long time ago we got down to the business of learning manners.
*We discussed the importance of using the words "please" and "thank you" and basic table etiquette such as putting your napkin your lap.
* We began Writer's Workshop which has been received with great enthusiasm. The children are learning how to put their ideas in print, add to existing pictures and labeling them.
Conversation Starters
* What do you do if someone asks you a question and your mouth is full of food? (Even more fun - what shouldn't you do?)
* What is the golden rule to remember about teen numbers?
* What were the magic words to make the porridge stop boiling in the story of "The Magic Porridge Pot?"

Grandmas and Grandpas
Grandmas and Grandpas are everything nice.
Like presents and candy and raspberry ice.
And chocolate fudge sundaes, with cherries on top.
And popcorn and peanuts and grape soda pop.
In winter or summer, in rain or in sun,
Grandmas and Grandpas are wonderful fun!
