Parent/Teacher Conferences

Traditionally parent/teacher conferences are held on the district parent/teacher conference day, which is October 10th. This year Claxton staff has a professional development on this day. I will not be hosting parent/teacher conferences on October 10th, but you will have a chance to conference with me at any point in October. I will be sending home a sign up document this week, please check Thursday folders.

Habit Of The Week

This week we will be focusing on being PROACTIVE. Being proactive means that we realize we are in control of our thoughts, actions and feelings.

My hope is an open dialogue between home and school about the 7 Habits.

What Are We Learning This Week?

Math: We are continuing our study of factors, multiples, arrays and multiplication.

Reading/Daily 5: We will continue to roll out classroom expectations and procedures during this time. Students will meet with Ms. Locke for reading conferences while the class works on building our stamina in Read to Self and Work on Writing.

Science: Health & Nutrition unit continues.

Social Studies: We will be focusing on North Carolina history and the Lost Colony.

Contacting Ms. Locke

Please make sure you make transportation changes prior to 1:30PM by calling the classroom.

Students should not be signed out between 2:15 and 2:55 as this causes a disruption to our school day. We teach and learn bell to bell and this time is valuable to your child for learning.

Homework goes home on Monday and is to be returned by Friday morning.
