Message from Dr. Malally
I recently met with our Director of Facilities in CUSD to discuss the upcoming projects for Condit in regards to Measure G. As soon as the end of May 2018, you can expect to see construction taking place out on our playground. Thanks to the support of Measure G, Condit will have ten new classrooms built in the area where the existing 1st - 6th Grade play structures are. Once these classrooms are constructed, the staff that inhabit our current bungalows (B1- B9, Rooms 19, 20 & 21/22) will move into those rooms.
The current bungalows will remain for a period of time (up to a few years) to house staff that currently reside in our permanent classrooms while modernization to their classrooms takes place. Our hope is that our playground/structures for 1st - 6th Grade can be moved prior to the beginning of initial construction.
Art by Donfrio began this week, and our students in grades 1st - 6th are creating art tied to a chocolate theme. Each teacher will be selecting three pieces of art from their classroom to submitted for the Claremont Educational Foundation (CEF) Chocolate Walk on Saturday, October 7th. Please see the flyer below.
We kicked off our first 100 Mile Club on Friday, and I know that several students already have a few miles under their belt. Don't forget that the 100 Mile Club is hosting an event at the L. A. County Fair on Saturday, September 23rd from 9:00 - 10:00 AM. Please see the flyer below. I was also excited to learn this week that Vista del Valle has rejoined the 100 Mile Club. I was in contact with their principal this week and we are going to try and coordinate some events together. Our school-wide goal this year is 50,000 miles, including our families/staff participating. Please come out and join us.
Thank you also to everyone that joined us at the "PFA Meet and Greet" on the lawn last Friday. I know many of you entered to win the Fall Fundraiser parking spot for a week, and two families were selected. Our PFA will be notifying the winners very soon! Good luck to all of you!
Condit's scheduled Saturday, September 23, 2017 100 Mile Club will be re-scheduled to Saturday, September 30, 2017 to allow for our students to attend the L.A. County Fair event.

Updates to 100 Mile Club in 2017-2018
The last update to 100 Mile Club is the the use of "Guest" sticks this year. We LOVE to have our family members join the 100 Mile Club, and want to include your miles in our school-wide goals. For any person that is not an enrolled student at Condit, we will pass out "Guest" sticks from now on. Students will continue to collect our usual sticks stamped with Condit on them, but the "Guest" sticks will be blue. If you are a family member that plans on joining the 100 Mile Club, please make sure that you are collecting the blue sticks for each lap that you do. Outside events will be credited based on the registration forms that indicate participants name.
*Thank you for your understanding with these changes.
Volunteer Forms
The Condit Office will begin accepting Volunteer Forms on Tuesday, September 19th. Proof of a current TB test is necessary to volunteer in the classroom on a regular basis. Thank you for volunteering!
