Parents Career Day Event
ATTENTION ALL OTSEGO PARENTS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS - PLEASE ATTEND A SPECIAL PRESENTATION ON NOVEMBER 20th by REPRESENTATIVES FROM OHIO MEANS JOBS.
Join us Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. in the Otsego Auditorium for a presentation about how OhioMeansJobs.com and ApprenticeOhio can help your kids choose a career path!
Ryan Thompson, father of Joelle (sophomore) and Trenton (freshman) and workforce administrator for the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, will be our guest speaker!
OhioMeansJobs.com: Ohio’s premier online career and employment center lists more than 150,000 job openings at any given time. About half of those jobs pay more than $50,000 per year. The website has career exploration features, skill and interest assessments, online tutorials, free GED and college entrance practice tests, and a special section just for students in grades K-12. Even young students can find careers that match their skills and interests, have good pay and a promising future.
ApprenticeOhio: In 2016, the average Ohio college student graduated with $30,351 worth of debt. Apprenticeships allow young people to bypass that burden while earning a paycheck and learning the skills they need to build a rewarding career.
Please join us for this presentation. It is right before the athletic awards. They will also be speaking to our Junior class during the school day on the 20th.
