“Building the Reign of God, One Child at a Time”
Dear Parents and/or Guardians:
Welcome to Autumn! We are reminded that the cold weather is just around the corner. With the school year off to a smooth start, I would like to say “Thank You” to everyone who has helped in any way to contribute to our successful start to the school year. We know that all the changes and challenges at the beginning of the year are difficult, at times. We thank you all for your continued support and patience.
Time seemed to fly in September as we settled back into our building and into our routines in supporting your child’s faith-based education. We are looking forward to working with Father Liju throughout the school year. He is very eager to get to know all the children and staff alike and build the relationship between our school and the parish. We appreciate all Father Liju does for our school.
As a parent community, our ‘School Council’ held its Annual General Meeting on September 28th. This meeting was held to elect the executive of our School Council. As part of their mandate, Mrs. Bobbie Nelner will be our President of our School Council for her third year. We look forward to the continued partnership and collaboration with our School Council. Our next School Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 16th from 6:30 - 8:30 pm online, please join us if you are able to. To access the online meeting link, please email Mr. Jacobson (kelly.jacobson@rdcrs.ca), he will send you the link the morning of the meeting.
As part of our ‘Safe and Caring School’ environment a reminder to review our safety procedures ‘Hour Zero’. Under these procedures, the terminology and training are used in conjunction with emergency services in the community. Fire Drills, Lockdowns, and Hold and Secure drills will be practiced throughout the year. We appreciate how our staff and students take these drills seriously and complete them efficiently.
To our entire school community, may each of our families continue to be blessed with the Lord’s bountiful goodness and abundant love during Thanksgiving.
God Bless!
Happy Thanksgiving to your family,
Mr. Kelly Jacobson and Mr. David Griffin
