NEWS FROM THE MUSTANG CAFE
We have several field trips coming up in October. Please see the list below regarding dates I need to have your sack lunch counts.
Kindergarten – Friday Oct. 5th
2nd Grade – Monday Oct. 15th
All sack lunches will include a PB&J w/a cheese stick, goldfish, celery & carrots, an applesauce cup and a milk (if they want it). If you have a peanut allergy let me know & we’ll make something different for those students.
Because of ordering deadlines & deliveries, it’s really important that I have your orders by the above dates. Please know that you’re never “locked in” to the numbers one way or the other, but I need to have a good idea about what to expect so that we’re prepared. Thanks so much to you all for all you do for us each day! You can’t imagine how much the numbers you send us daily help us be as efficient as possible, so that you & your students have the time you need for lunch each day. Love to you all from the café!Coach's Corner

School-Wide Goals-Always on our Mind:
Writing, Integrating Science and Social Studies into ELA , Personalized Learning to foster an Academically Challenging Environment, Social Emotional Learning
Technology Tidbits
Midway's Digital Citizenship Vision:
Every student at Midway ES will become a responsible digital citizen who knows how to harness the learning potential of digital media in a 24/7 connected world, safely, effectively, ethically, and respectfully. Students at this school will be educated about appropriate online behavior, including interacting with other individuals on social networking websites and in chat rooms and cyber bullying awareness and response. In order to accomplish this goal, each year students will be provided with direct instruction on how to be a responsible digital citizen. Additionally, classroom teachers will refer to and discuss the Digital Citizen Tools For Success Poster each time students are required to use technology.
- Complete the Google Digital Citizenship for Teachers before Halloween and email me a copy of your badge. Thank you for doing your part to keep our kids safe online and learning alongside them as well. HUGE thank you for the following teachers for already completing the Digital Citizenship Google Training: Kangas, Fahey, Wade, Shelnutt, Phillips, C Arnold, Vallier, Collins, Driscoll, Reynolds, J Davis, Moore, Love, Clanton, Smith, Patel, Miller, D Davis, DeLaCruz, Ratterree, Bohm, Shorter, Luper, Starr and LeBlanc.
ClearTouch Panels-The training for the panels will be October 11th and our installation process will begin the week of October 15th. It will be a learning curve for all of us but it will be worth it. Please keep in mind for now flipcharts will not load on the ClearTouch Panels. Tech dept is working on a solution. IF your grade level has engaging interactive flipcharts that you can not live without please follow these directions:
- Decide as grade level on 3-5 flipcharts you can not live without.
- Save these flipcharts to the W share drive, FlipchartsMustHave Folder, then your grade level folder. NO more than 5 please.
- I'd recommend doing this by the end of October, discuss in a grade level meeting.
- Do not put a flipchart in there that is from TeacherPayTeacher or other copyright site. Those can not be recreated due to copyright.
Thank you to Jennifer Brown for learning more about the ClearTouch panels and using them with her students to engage them in interactive technology.
