Around the World

The Annual 2020 event will be held on Thursday, March 12th at 5:30 at Hickory Creek Middle School

"Around the World" is an annual event that gives local families the opportunity to highlight and share their ethnic background, while offering students, families, & the community a chance to learn about traditions, geography, art, religions, political systems, & much more.

Passports will be stamped, Thursday, March 12th, at Frankfort School District 157c's 7th annual "Around the World" event. This FREE all ages event is held at Hickory Creek Middle School, and features over 25 countries, represented by resident families of FSD 157c. Entertainment, history, food, culture and more will be celebrated as attendees travel the globe at this unique event.

Long time "Around the World" Chairperson, Kris McGuire explained, "it's a night out for the whole family. Watching our children learn from peers, parents, and grandparents, offers a sense of community and family spirit that is truly contagious!"

At admission, every student and their family are given a printed passport. Participants spend the evening weaving in and out of different countries, collecting stamps along the way.

Interactive activities as well as displays are constructed to include traditions, geography, art, religion, political systems and more. New this year, is a free photo both to commemorate the event.

Don't' have plans for dinner? Grab a taste of something new or a favorite from years past, from Mediterranean Express, Gotta B Crepes, and Pierogi Squad. These local food trucks are annual crowd pleasers!

McGuire added, "Every year it keeps growing; Last year, the countries of Iran, Japan, Latvia, Nigeria, Haiti joined the event. It's a true representation of the melting pot that is our community and FSD 157c. We're celebrating our differences."

The event will be held Thursday, March 12th, from 5:30-8pm at Hickory Creek Middle School (preK-8th grade) 22150 S. Owens Rd. Frankfort. It is a FREE event.

Remind 101 FOR 157c Booster Events

Remind 101 App is a reminder system to send out quick, short reminders via text or email about upcoming news. The 157C Boosters (Band, Orchestra, Athletic, Chorus, Family School Partnership & Education Foundation) use Remind 101 to send out reminders regarding hot lunches, ticket sales, volunteer needs, order deadlines, etc. New restrictions from Remind have forced us to create multiple groups to keep our audience for each group under 150 people. Below are the different groups created for the 157C Booster Remind 101.

Please choose the one or two that apply to you.
