Sacco and Vanzetti

On April 15, 1920 a paymaster was shot at and robbed of $15,776. On May 5, two Italians Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti, "fell into a police trap" that was meant for the suspects. They weren't under suspicion but they were carrying guns and lied to police when they were questioned. Although both were innocent they were convicted and charged with murder and robbery.

The Palmer Raids

The Palmer Raids were the United States Department of Justice's attempt to arrest and deport radical leftists from America. Over 500 people were deported which angered The Department of Labor because they didn't agree with Palmer's method's.

Race Riots

Chicago, Illinois

Race riots will erupt across the nation during the late 1910's-early 1920's. These riots were mainly among those African Americans that fled the Jim Crow south, and went north in the Great Migration to work in the war time factories.
