2022 Booster Board Elections

Elections this Thursday!

REMINDER - the election of our next booster board will be held THIS THURSDAY, March 10th, at the parent meeting. All positions are open to any and all interested booster parents! You must attend in person to vote.

Candidate Bios

President - Denise Holaday

“I write to express my interest in seeking re-election for the position of President. I have enjoyed working on this board as President over the past year, as well as my previous positions of Vice President and concert band/pep band liaison. I'm excited to continue to see the increase in both student and parent participation in our program. I'm very interested in continuing to leverage technology to help with communication, especially with ParentSquare, the fcbands.org website, social media posts, and the Weekly Cadence.

My son, Carter, is a freshman trombone/baritone, and my daughter, Emma, is an alumna of the program. My day job is litigation case manager/paralegal in the legal department at Eli Lilly and Company.

I appreciate your consideration, and I look forward to another great year for the band program!”

Vice President - Jessica Lee

“I'm writing to express my interest in seeking election for the position of Vice President of the FC Band Boosters. I previously sat on the board for 2 years - 1 as secretary and 1 as percussion liaison. I enjoyed being a part of the FC Band program and board during that time. When I wasn't serving on the board, I volunteered multiple hours my son's freshman year helping with food, props, chaperoning and spirit.

I am the FCHS Athletic Department Admin Assistant by day.

My son Aidan is a current senior set to graduate this May. He was involved in marching band and indoor percussion for 3 years, pep band for 2 years, and his senior year joined the show choir band Static Havoc. My daughter Arianna is currently an 8th grade percussionist and plans to be part of the marching band and indoor percussion when she becomes a freshman next school year. My daughter Adyson is not involved with performing arts but is an athlete at the high school.

If voted in as VP, I would like to have involvement with the Weekly Cadence, communications, and possibly providing assistance with some fundraising.

Thank you for your time.”

Events Coordinator - Amanda Groce

“I am running for the position of Events Coordinator. I have been the Engagement Coordinator this past year, and ShopwithScrip/RaiseRight™ coordinator for 3 years. I am interested in making a move to Events Coordinator because I really enjoy the planning, coordinating, teamwork, and fulfillment that comes with executing a successful event. I know that every event we host is extremely important to the life of this program. I will work diligently to maintain the outstanding reputation we have among the performing arts community when it comes to hosting. I will strive to make volunteering for our events easy and FUN!

I have experience in event planning, the largest of which was a 3-day district song festival held at Union Station that welcomed 12 German choirs from 4 different states.

I have 3 children currently in the program, Chloe (senior), Dylan (junior), and Ezra (freshman). My 5th grader, Hannah, will be starting her band journey next school year. My day job is business operations manager for Enteral Nutrition Services at IU Health Home Care. I am also a travel agent in my “spare” time.”

Secretary - Karen Smith

“I am seeking re-election for the position of Secretary. This past year was my first year on the board and I have really enjoyed being a part of the behind the scenes process of the Band Boosters. I look forward to watching this program grow over the coming years.

Over the course of the past 3 years, I have helped with many aspects of the band. I have become the button maker, created the senior photo albums, taken a ton of photos of students, and chaperoned the bus rides.

I am a High School Math teacher in my normal everyday life. My husband, Joel, and I have 3 kids. Audrey is our oldest, she is currently a sophomore clarinet player during Marching Band and part of the visual line for Indoor Percussion. Our middle child, Ainsleigh, is a 6th grade saxophone player and plans to march in the future. And our youngest, Addison, is a 4th grader and has already started her band life as a flute player.”

Treasurer—OPEN

(NOTE: the positions of Concert Band Liaison, Marching Band Liaison, Guard Liaison, and Percussion Liaison are appointed by the directors, not elected by the booster parents. We encourage those who are interested in those positions to reach out to the current liaisons and/or directors for more information!)
