Reading Takes You Places

It was a great year and I can't believe it is over. I enjoyed seeing all of our students grow as readers over this past year. It is so exciting for me to see our kindergartners light up when they discover that they are becoming readers themselves.

The best way to keep that excitement growing is to keep reading. Whether it is looking at books on their own, reading on their own, or having someone read to them the more they are exposed to reading and books the better reader they will become.

I look forward to seeing all the students over the summer. Have a wonderful summer with your families.

Carnegie Library Summer Reading Program

The Clay Center Carnegie Library Summer Reading Program will kick-off on June 1st. The theme this is is "Every Hero has a Story". The summer reading program is open to all ages, even adults. There are many events planned throughout June and the program will end on July 10th with a celebration for all the readers. This program is free. Stop by the library sign-up for the program and take a vacation with a book without even leaving Clay County.
