Harrowsmith PS Weekly Update

Weekly Update
Good Afternoon Harrowsmith families.
We have had a busy week at Harrowsmith with a great deal of wonderful things happening.
Our student council has been busy preparing for Orange and Black day for Halloween this year. Students are encouraged to wear orange and black for the occasion.
Our Primary teachers are organizing a Literacy night on November 1 at 6:00. Please feel free to join us to hear about how we are approaching Literacy, have an opportunity to ask questions and receive a few tips and tricks that will help your child at home. This will be geared towards Primary students.
Grade 7 and 8 students have been invited to and participated in volleyball tryouts. Thank you to Ms. Rowat and the educators who are involved in organizing this sport for our students.
We have completed three fire drills to date. Our students have done a great job exciting the building in a quiet orderly manner. They have also recognized the importance of maintaining a quiet demeanor while waiting to come back into the classroom. I expect that we will practice fire drills once again in the spring.
Our students will be participating in bus safety training on November 16. As always Buster the Bus will be on hand to assist in our understanding of Bus safety.
A huge thank you to our Parent Council who have graciously donated points that have accumulated as a result of our book fairs. We have been able to purchase items for classrooms to support our students. Points will also be given to teachers who will have an opportunity to further support students.
Thank you for your continued support. Should you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
