The water frame was made by Richard Arkwright in 1769. It was made in England, its purposed was to make strong yarn, the wat it made yarn was by pulling cotton many times making it strong. It was made so people could make clothes out of the yarn.

The first inventor of the water frame was Richard Arkwright, but the man who modified it was Edmond Cartwright.
