Dear Families:
Happy Friday!
Next week will be filled with excitement and adventure for our first graders!
Monday-- It's the 100th day of school (How did this day come so fast?) Much of our day will be dedicated to the number 100, and we will be doing several activities. You are welcome to pop in and see what we are up to.
Wednesday--We will be celebrating Valentine's Day a few days early this year! Our "Friendship Party" will begin at 12:45 and go until the end of the day (1:30). The theme color is red. We are hoping to wear as much red, and eat as many red snacks as we can think of (mostly healthy, but a few sweets are fine too!) I sent home a class list today (Friday) in your child's backpack that has the name of every student in our class. Creating or buying Valentines is optional, but if you bring a Valentine for one, please bring for all.
Thursday--We will venture out up to Cal to watch Sweet Honey in the Rock perform. I have been playing their music for the kids during writing time this week. If you have not returned the permission slip yet, please do so immediately.
Friday--Stay home, there's no school until next Tuesday, the 18th.
If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at: susannereed@berkeley.net
Thank you,
Susanne Reed
