RESPONSE TO INTERVENTION
In addition to the items on the RTI checklist, we will also be looking at students that are at risk of retention. So be prepared to discuss these students. Also, to maximize your time along with the RTI Team, it is imperative that you have the December Scale Score and GE for all your students. It is time consuming if this information is not prepared prior to the meeting. If all the data from the checklist is not ready at the time of your scheduled conference, your meeting will be rescheduled.
A sub will be provided to cover your class at the scheduled time, so please leave instructions for the sub.
RESPONSE TO INTERVENTION SCHEDULE
DUTY/SUPERVISION
During morning arrival, lets all model the behavior we would like to see in the students. We should be attentive during this time and not visiting with other staff. Duty staff should be placed where students can be supervised. During this time, students should sit quietly regardless of what they are working on. Previously the expectation has been to read a book or study multiplication facts, but some staff members have asked if students could sit quietly even if they are not reading or studying math facts. Sitting quietly may be added as an option during this time.
Dismissal times must be precise. It only works if we all stick to the scheduled times. If classes start this process early, it causes too much congestion during dismissal.
2:55 pm: “All after school duty personnel please report to your posts.”
2:57 pm: “Teachers at this time, please have your car riders and walkers sit outside of your door.” After you put your car riders and walkers outside of your door, have bus riders line up inside the classroom door in two lines (early and late).
3:00 pm: “Teachers at this time, please begin leading your early and late bus riders to their designated areas.”
OFFICE REFERRALS
OFFICE REFERRALS - Please remember that you CANNOT send a student to the referral office. You must turn in the behavior expectation log to Ms. Adelowo and put the referral in TAC. A member of the referral team will come get the student as soon as we are able. If it is an immediate concern, send a text or call one of us. Remember that Coach Sharpe teaches PE in the afternoon and cannot always assist with behavior at this time. Please be patient and we will assist you.
BES PHONE TREE
In addition to the robo callout, the BES phone tree can be used to communicate whether our schools are open or closed during inclement weather.
Mrs. Walker will call all names in the maroon boxes. You will in turn call the name of the person just below your name. Everyone else will call the person just below their name. If you receive a no answer from the person listed below your name, call the next person and then try to call the no answer number again.
Please check the phone tree and update your information if needed.

SPED Grading
SPED teachers will give regular ed teachers grades weekly that will be shared in a GoogleDoc. Grades must be entered individually, not an average.
Weekly communication between SPED teachers and regular ed teachers regarding student progress with emphasis on those students that are performing poorly. Our goal is to provide intense interventions before a child fails.
SUBSTITUTES
An administrator or secretary must be notified if a substitute is needed. Requests must be made as early as possible to ensure the availability of a substitute. In the event of an emergency and you must call in to request a sub, you can reach Mrs. Walker at (870) 532-7866 (cell). If there is no answer, please leave a message or send a text.
You should have at least 3 days of sub plans in your emergency sub binder that can be used on days that you do not know that you are going to be absent. Sub plans need to be placed in an area that is easy for the substitute to find. In your sub folder, you must have your daily schedule that includes times to change classes, special class times, lunch, activity, dismissal times, scheduled bathroom breaks and the transportation list that shows how your students get home. You must also have a copy of your current class roster with instructions on how to record attendance for your class. You must have any instructional material already copied so the substitute has everything they need for the day. You should have a buddy teacher that will cover your duty when you are out. Please make arrangements so that your duty is covered and return the favor for someone else! We all have emergencies at some point, so we want to make sure our students are appropriately supervised at all times.
