Hello, Longwood Families!
As we approach the final week before winter break, we're excited to reflect on the wonderful moments from last week and share the upcoming highlights that await us.
Last Week's Highlights:
We were fortunate to host the esteemed author John Schu. Not only did our students have the privilege of enjoying his captivating storytelling, but Mr. Schu also generously donated one book to every second and third grader. We're grateful for his support in fostering a love for reading among our Lions! A special thank you to our outstanding LMC Director, Ms. Kouri, for organizing the opportunity for our students!
In addition, our fifth graders had a fantastic field trip to Hill Middle School for a music concert. Their exemplary behavior was not only noticed, but also praised by the Hill staff. We are proud of our Lions demonstrating leadership in our community!
This Week's Excitement: As we gear up for winter break, there are several exciting events planned:
SPIRIT WEEK: Get ready for a week full of fun and creativity as we kick off Spirit Week! Each day will bring a different theme, allowing students to showcase their school spirit and creativity. See the schedule below. Monday is "Deck the Halls: Deck out in your favorite holiday socks"! Thank you, Ms. Knowles for organizing!
Caps on for Cancer, Fri 12/22: Our Student Council is hosting a fundraiser for "Emily Beazley's Kures for Kids" for Childhood Cancer Research. Students and staff can donate $1 (or more) to wear a hat on Friday. All proceeds will be donated directly to "Emily Beazley's Kures for Kids". Thank you for your support!
