CC Week 18
Wednesday, February 10th, 2016
Hello families!
It's already Week 18! I have lots of announcements:
We'll have a pizza party this week, so no need to bring lunch - it's on me! I need to get an estimate for how much pizza to order, so PLEASE FILL OUT THE FORM in the next section, or I will not have enough pizza.
February 17th is a break week and we will not have regular CC, however, we will be having a Memory Master Review Pajama Party! We will start at 9am, and moms will participate in quizzing the kids. Childcare will not be available. If your children are at all interested in Memory Master, please read this document. Please let me know if you will be attending this review session by sending me an email.
Windows Into Challenge is February 27th, 10am-12pm at the church. Do not miss this event! Invite your friends!
Info Meetings for parents interested in CC are scheduled for February 16th and March 1st. Please let your friends know, and ask them to email me at randaclay@gmail.com if they will be attending. Once I have a headcount, I will decide on a location. (After attending an info meeting, families may visit our campus on a community day.)
Don't forget to register by March 2nd to hold your spots for next year! Forms can be printed from this link.
See you Wednesday!
Foundations to Challenge
This week in the timeline, students will sing about Marx publishing the Communist Manifesto. In Challenge III, students will study R.C. Sproul’s introduction to philosophy called The Consequences of Ideas. Perhaps no other idea had so many far-reaching consequences in the 20th century than Marx’s idea about communism. Challenge III students will study his idea in greater depth and see how it affected the communist countries that adopted his ideas. The memory peg this week in Foundations gives them the context in which Marx was writing and prepares them for these future studies.
