Oak Ridge Family Focus
May 12th Edition
"Willy Wonka Kids"
Thank you to all of the families that came out to see the "Willy Wonka Kids" show last Wednesday. Our students did a great job making the story come to life. We had a great turnout and a fun time!
Also, thank you to our students for all their hard work, families for making sure students made it to rehearsal on time, and staff (Mrs. McMillin, Mr. Hoch, Mrs. Fitzgerald, Mr. Gesiakowski, Mrs. Dempsey, & Mrs. O'Connor) for working so many hours getting the musical ready. It takes a village to put together a show, and we couldn't have done it without the help and support of so many people.
Math Bowl
This week some of our students competed in the South Cook Math Bowl at Prairie State College. The competition includes individual/team events and consists of mental math, logic puzzles, complex word problems, and KenKen puzzles. Over 30 school districts in the area competed, and we are pleased to announce our students who earned medals:
- 2nd grade: Andrew (1st place)
- 3rd grade: Mariam (1st place)
- 5th grade: Filip (3rd place)
- 1st/2nd grade team: Marc, Satas, Andrew, & Jakub (1st place)
Congratulations to all of our students who competed this week at Math Bowl. You worked so hard, and we couldn't be more proud of each of you. Also, a big thank you to Ms. Park for preparing our students to be the best they can be and supporting them all year. Go Team Oak Ridge!
