Quick Update for the Week

Bell Schedule 2022-23


Welcome back everyone,

Below is some information to make the first few days go smoothly.


Kennedy Morning Entrances:

  1. Kennedy School's gates open at 8:00am each morning. One entrance is at the end of the drop off lane at the end of the 100 wing of the school.

  2. The second entrance is on Washington by the Kennedy gym.

*If students arrive drop before 8:00 am there is no supervision so please plan ahead


Dismissal

Dismissal is at 3:10 M,T,W & F with students needing to be off campus within the first 10 minutes unless they are in after school program or have a scheduled meeting with a teacher.

Early Dismissal Thursday

Kennedy has early dismissal every Thursday at 2:10


Students needing their Schedule:

If you have not received your schedule the Kennedy library (by the front office) will be open at 7:45 am tomorrow 8/17 to pass out schedules. We will have signs posted to guide you.


Students Enrolled in Boys and Girls Club 3:10 pm-6:00 pm

Students will be picked up from their classroom prior to dismissal this week to help students transition to the program. The program goes till 6:00 pm. Dismissal for the program is in the back of the school on Washington street.

School lunches are free, no paperwork is needed from families for this school year.

COVID-19 District Update 8/15/2022

COVID-19 District Update (District Message 8/15)

Kennedy school has free COVID test kits in the front office for families to pick-up. Come by the office during working hours 8:00 am-3:30pm if interested. If positive, follow the direction below.


Families: Reporting of a positive case

Parents should complete the District’s self-reporting form when reporting a student positive case. This form is available on the “Quick Links” section of the RCSD website as well as all 12 school websites.


The Department of Student Services will contact parents to review the case and answer any return to school questions via StudentCOVIDResponse@rcsdk8.net.


COVID-19 Safety Protocols Review

  • Masking will be highly recommended but not required (Masks will be supplied in the office for students that request them)

  • Vaccination verification is not required however if students are vaccinated families can share that information with our school nurse.

  • Volunteers on campus must be vaccinated and must follow district volunteer guidance. If someone was cleared last year they can volunteer on site. For more information on volunteering see district information. (Link). Please note that volunteers are not allowed on campus until September 17th.

  • Water fountains and water filling stations are being reopened for student use.

  • Students will be encouraged to hand-wash and use hand sanitizer regularly.

  • Families will continue to be informed of any positive case on campus by electronic letter
