Maintenance Staff: Keeping a Smile at Crunch Time
When the pressure is on we sometimes get a little stressed. If the maintenance department is feeling the pressure they aren't showing it to our teachers. A teacher reported that they had her "cracking up" as they made adjustments to her new SMART panel just one day before students returned. Thanks, guys, for your positive attitude!
Welcome!
Greeting our newest students in CCS. Kindergarten students begin their adventure at CCPS!

Bearcat GROWLS Provides School Supplies
GROWLS (Growing Resources for Our Winning Local Schools) has again provided CMS with a number of school supplies for our students. Thank you GROWLS for partnering with us to make sure that all CMS students have the supplies that they need.
Sometimes Doing the Small Things Has the Biggest Impact
When you are in the early days of the school year and you are trying to navigate your class schedule, master your school locker combo, and not miss your lunch time, you sometimes need a little bling to make the day better! Tommy Duke, CMS Assistant Principal, recently helped a student add that bling to her locker! It really is the little things that we take time to do for our students that assure them they are truly important to us!

Summer May Be Ending But Ice Cream Makes Returning a Little Easier
The ice cream truck was at EES during Open House! What a great way to ease the transition from summer break to a new school year. Treats for East Beasts!
Follow the Bouncing Ball
A unique way to let students share about themselves. This oversized ball was perfect for our students to toss and catch. When you caught the ball it was your turn to share. Making learning fun!
West Elementary School
Open House at West Kicks Off the New Year
Our West families showed up in force to visit campus and support their students at Open House! We are so grateful for families who want to be a strong partner in the education of our students. We look forward to seeing these families throughout the school year.
First Week Means Learning Expectations and Procedures
The first few days of school are spent sharing our expectations for our students and practicing classroom and school procedures. A strong start to a great year!

Kindergarten Camp
For the past few years, CCPS has been holding Kindergarten Camp on the first two days of the school year. On Wednesday, Aug 9th only the boys came to school. On Thursday, August 10th, the girls had their turn. On Friday, all kindergarten students attended together for the first time. This strategy allows our kindergarten teachers to spend time with a smaller group of students reviewing and practicing procedures for the classroom, restroom, lunchroom and much more. It also gives our parents the opportunity to get accustomed to our traffic pattern with fewer vehicles in line. We feel this has been extremely successful in helping our new families feel more comfortable as they begin their journey in Cullman City Schools.
All Smiles on Day One!
Happy faces were the theme for the day as students returned to CCPS!
