GCC Good Things

Winter Edition 2019

Superintendent's Update

Season’s Greetings! As we come to the conclusion of 2019, I would like to take this time to express my heartfelt gratitude for the work you do everyday to make an impact in the lives of our students and families. Everyday you create excellence and endless possibilities for our students. Recently, I had the honor to concluded my last fall 2019 Superintendent's presentation and was reminded of our theme this year; "UBUNTU!...Your Shine is My Shine" and want to encourage everyone in the GCC as we welcome the new year to make a commitment to help your school, staff, coworkers, and students shine!

Enjoy your holiday break and I look forward to seeing everyone in the new year!

We are excited to have successfully completed our open enrollment period for benefits effective January 1st, 2020. The new GCC benefit premiums and GCC contribution changes will take effect on the December 20, 2019 paycheck. Employees whose selections exceed the GCC contribution will experience a deduction for the employee portion of their benefits. Some employees will see a change in their deductions on the December 20, 2019 paycheck. GCC defers a small portion of the monthly benefit premiums for 10 month and 11 month employees each pay period to pay for the June and/or July benefits. The deferral amount will be coded “GCC Summer Benefits” on your paycheck.

As we approach the winter break, the Human Resources and Payroll Department would like to be sure that we have the correct address information on file. If you have moved in the last few months, or are planning to move during the winter break please notify us of your new address by completing the Address Change Form, so that we are sure you will receive your paycheck that will be mailed over the break (for employees that have NOT signed up for direct deposit).
