The Persian Gulf i sone of the world's largest single source of crude oil. Every year this are produces 25% to 28% of the world's oil supply. In 1991, there was an oil spill in this gulf. Ever since then, the area has been a very dangerous region.
Fun Facts
The Persian Gulf is an extension of the Arabian Sea, connecting it with the Strait of Oman. Prone to a lot of controversy. Wars/battles have caused serious environmental issues by allowing oil to run off into the water. About 615 miles long. Very dangerous part of M.E.N.A.
History
The Persian Gulf region was once just rivers and wetlands. The area was once an environmental refuge. Throughout the years, the gulf has had many different battles/wars fought near it, as well as many different owners.
Wildlife
The Persian Gulf is home to many different varieties of wildlife. Because of the oil spill in 1991, many of the species are on their way to becoming extinct, or are very rare. The wildlife living in this area faces many different environmental risks.
