Eastwood High School

Principal's Update #31 - April 29, 2016

Dear Parents & Community Members

Finally, all of our State Testing is done at Eastwood HS. Overall, the process went extremely well as the students and staff were prepared each of the days. Regardless of the "craziness" of the schedules that we've dealt with over the past few weeks due to testing, we made it through and should find out the results during the summer months. I truly appreciate the efforts of the staff - and especially Mrs. Schuessler (District Test Coordinator) - for helping to organize and administer the tests to our students this year.

Next up....This weekend are the Eastwood HS Prom and After Prom events. Countless hours have been put in by staff, parents, and students to make this year's events a safe and memorable one for all those planning to attend. Their collective efforts will certainly make this year a success and I look forward to seeing all of our students enjoy a safe weekend with the planned festivities.

Go Eagles!!!

Student Recognition at Penta Career Center

The Student Affairs Office (SAO) has implemented a positive referral system to recognize students who are performing above expectations or making improvements to meet/exceed expectations. We have been informed that the following Eastwood HS student currently attending Penta recently received a Penta Positive Referral:

Jacob Marsh

This student earned a “Penta Fast Pass” which entitles him to move to the front of the serving line in the cafeteria and an “I Made the Wall” t-shirt to be worn on Fridays (only given to the 1st 100 students each semester). Congratulations!!!

Mane Miracle

The Eastwood community does a wonderful job in supporting our collective efforts at school and throughout the area. Here's yet another example of how we can all help. Special thanks is given to senior Lindsey King for bringing this event to our attention:

Have you ever wanted to be a part of a world record? Now is your chance: start growing your hair out now, and donate it on September 8th at the Mane Miracle. Not only will you contribute to a world record, but you will also help to provide wigs to cancer patients. Donations less than 8'' will be used to clean up oil spills, so everyone can help! For more information and to pledge your hair donation visit http://www.manemiracle16.com/
