The Mata Memo
September 6, 2022
Principal's Message
Dear Mata family,
It's week 4! We are moving and grooving, growing and learning, and ultimately achieving! We had another week of great Montessori teaching and learning! There are so many wonderful things happening in our classrooms! Ask your child what did they enjoy most this week.
We are proud to follow the direction of Dr. Montessori, "Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment."
Thank you for continuing to support us in our efforts to ensure your students succeed socially, emotionally, and academically.

Attention All K-6th Grade and 8th Grade Parents
As our most valued partners, ensuring that you are informed and able to make the best decisions for your student and family are of utmost importance.
This year, you will receive parent consent form(s) for your student to receive human sexuality instruction and/or instruction over the prevention of child abuse, family violence, dating violence, and sex trafficking.
Parent consent forms will be sent via email from appnotifications@dallasisd.org and will include the following subject line: Your Opt-in Form for Grade Level Parent Consent. Depending upon your child’s grade level, you will receive one or two separate emails containing your child’s name and a hyperlink to the online form(s).
We want you to make an informed decision and encourage you to review the purpose and objective of this curriculum. Get detailed information, including the number of emails you should expect, when you should receive emails, instruction start dates and more at https://bit.ly/disdwellness.
Once you receive the email applicable to your student’s instruction, please select your official response and click on “submit” to complete your form as soon as possible. For your records, a document confirming your selection will be sent via email from forms@dallasisd.org.
If we do not receive your signed consent by the first day of human sexuality instruction, or instruction over the prevention of child abuse, family violence, dating violence, and sex trafficking, your student will not be permitted to participate. Your student will be assigned an alternative activity that will not include instruction over any of the topics listed above.
Each parent consent form will let you know whom to reach out to if you have any questions.
Thank you for your support and collaboration.
Sincerely,
Tomeka Williams, Principal
