The Double Creek Courier
Week of December 4
Principal's Letter
Happy Holiday Season, Cougars!
We still have a lot of learning to get in for the next 3 weeks filled with fun activities as well. Please read the important information below.
📌Assessment Window We will begin our mid-term testing next week on the computers. For best results, the students should use ear buds. Would you mind sending your children to school with their own earbuds? Thanks for your help.
📌Attendance Our goal is to maintain a 96% attendance rate. You can help us reach this goal in the following ways:
Use the winter break to schedule pediatric and dental appointments.
If this isn’t possible, scheduling after 10:00 AM will ensure that your child is marked present for the day.
Car riders need to arrive before 7:30 AM. This is our tardy bell and we begin instruction promptly at that time.
📌Holiday Parties We will be having our classroom holiday parties on Wednesday, December 20th starting around 1:00 PM. With respect and due to security, this is a party limited to the teachers and their students. We will ask parents to keep their children in school until the end of the day so that they may enjoy the festivities. Pajamas, slippers, and robes will be allowed, but they must be school appropriate.
📌Class Tag As a reminder, our system of communicating with you on a regular basis is the use of Class Tag. You can message teachers as well as receive newsletters and timely information. If you haven’t connected with your classroom yet. Please reach out to your teacher.
Have a great weekend!
Dr. Wilson

Attendance Matters!
As we all know, cold and flu season are upon us. We wish for all our students to stay healthy always. However, we understand there could come a time when they are not feeling too well and need to stay home. Please read the following information regarding our attendance policy. More information is also available in the Jarrell Independent School District Parent and Student Handbook under Absences/Attendance.
Regular school attendance is essential for a student to make the most of his or her education to benefit from teacher led and school activities, to build each day's learning on the previous day's, and to grow as an individual.
When a student is absent, the student must bring a note to the attendance office within three days of the absence. After three days, parent notes may not be accepted and the absences will be considered unexcused. A maximum of three (3) parent notes per semester will be accepted as excused.
