Variety Show on the Horizon.......

Get ready to SHINE!!! It’s time to get your Variety Show acts ready. This year’s “RE-View” will be on Friday, May 6th! ALL students K-5 are welcome to be part of the show!!

Your act could be: singing, dancing, comedy, martial arts, gymnastics, piano, guitar, other instruments, or anything else your creative genius comes up with!

Detailed information will be coming soon, but start preparing now!

Email Ms. Kellogg (ejkellogg@usd232.org) with any questions!

Early Pickup

As we all return back to some activities post COVID, we are starting to change some things up with early pickup. If at any point during the school day you are needing to pick up your student, we now ask that you park and come into the front office to pick up your student. This way you can sign your student out and meet them in the front office to checkout.

Thank you in advance for helping us with this small change! We look forward to seeing your smiling faces in the front office.

Changes in the Lunchroom

Now that masks are optional and COVID cases are low, we are adjusting and making some changes within the building. One of those areas that will see changes after spring break will be in our lunchroom. We will adjust the seating arrangement, and we will now start having visitors at lunch. We have not been able to have this for two years, so many of you have never experienced lunch at Riverview. Here are a few items to note:

  • Please use the sign-up below if you would like to come and have lunch with your child. This follows board policy of making sure our visitors are pre-planned.
  • Students and their guest will have special seating on our stage.
  • You may purchase an adult lunch at school. If you would like to do this, the cost is $4.35, and it is helpful if we know this in advance.
  • You may choose to bring food from a favorite restaurant to enjoy with your child.

Just a quick little Survey please......

Slight Correction....The Survey Link will be open starting after Monday March 21st....so just hold tight and hold on to this link!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Our school is implementing a whole-school transformational process called the Leader in Me, which teaches 21st-century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader.

Our school will be conducting surveys to learn more about key areas of strength and areas of needed growth in our school. In order for us to have a holistic picture of what is going on in our school, we are asking all full-time staff members, parents/guardians, and students in Grade 4 and up to participate.

Parent Participation
If you decide to participate, you will be asked to complete a survey (without sharing your name or other identifying information) that will be available through the weblink below. The survey is completely voluntary, but we do hope to get feedback from one member of every household.

The parent/guardian survey takes about 12 minutes to complete and will ask questions about your child and about his or her experience in our school. If you have more than one child attending the school, you will be asked to think about the oldest child's experiences as you answer questions related to his or her growth.

Please take this survey: https://www.leaderinme.com/s/riverview-elem-ks/families

Please complete the survey by: April 2, 2022'

Messages From PTA

The PTA is pleased to announce the Board slate for the 2022-2023 school year. We took special care to ensure all Riverview stakeholders were aware of the process and that the PTA Bylaws and Standing Rules were followed. In addition, we looked for parent representation from a variety of grade levels and looked to ensure there were no conflicts of interest.

The slate will be voted on at our next General Membership meeting on Monday, April 25th at 7pm. We hope you can join us for the election!

Peanut FREE School.....Reminder

Just a friendly reminder that we are a peanut FREE school here at Riverview. With birthday celebrations and school parties, I thought I would attach our peanut free approved foods list. Please note that this is a working document and if you find another food or bakery location that meets the peanut free requirements, we would be happy to add that to our list to share out with other families!

Thank you again for helping keep all the kiddos here at RE safe and healthy!
