What's going on in 2B!

November 19-November 22

Math: We will continue our work with addition and subtraction review before the break. Students need to be able to add and subtract two digit numbers WITH AND WITHOUT regrouping! Quiz your learner to see how they are doing. They should also know their math facts with fluency to 18 (9+9=18)

Science: Students have loved learning about balance! We will continue our study of motion next week.

Language Arts: This week we will have a short unit on folktales. Learners will be discussing the difference between a folktale and a fairy tale. We have been working on reading and writing goals. Ask your learner how they know if they are becoming a better reader. They should know their reading goal!

Social Studies: This week we will be learning about American Indians. We will be discussing different cultures and how different cultures celebrate differently

Academic Olympics!

CISD Academic Olympics registration is open! Please encourage your student to participate in this fun event. Click to find out about each event, and to register.
After your online registration is complete, please send $10 (cash only) marked with your child's name to their homeroom teacher. Reflex Math

Reflex Math is a way for students to practice their math facts. I will be sending home a letter regarding Reflex Math and your child's log in information. I would like each student to be practicing their math facts on Reflex Math at least 15 minutes a day. This will help build their math fluency. I will be introducing this website to the students during math time throughout the week.
