Our Annual Halloween Extravaganza was a tremendous success! Lots of smiles and laughs were had throughout the day and we raised over $500.00 for our Adopt a Family Program. Thank you to all that contributed.
Morning Arrival
Preschool - Grade 5 families should enter the designated drop-off loop (see attached image). Beginning at 8:40, children can exit the vehicle when directed by a staff member. Please do not drop your child off prior to 8:40 as there is no supervision. Children are encouraged to unbuckle independently, get their backpack, exit the car out of the passenger side and proceed to their classroom using their grade level entrance. Drivers should remain in vehicles.
Also, a reminder that families should not use Lot B for arrival.
We truly appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Bus Safety Meetings
At TES, we are committed to making your child’s ride to and from school safe, calm, and enjoyable. Over the next two weeks, Mrs. Sousa, Dr. Salmon, Assistant Principals, and your child's bus driver will meet with students to review expectations on the bus. Students should keep hands, feets, and objects to themselves. Students should be respectful with their words and actions.
Please take a moment to review this Bus Safety Video with your child. Here is some additional informational:
It is recommended that you arrive at your bus stop 5 minutes before your scheduled pickup time.
Be at your stop 5 minutes prior to your child being dropped off. Kindergarten children will not be let off the bus unless someone is there to get them. If there is no one at the child’s stop, the child will be brought back to school and the parent/guardian will be contacted to pick the child up at the school.
Bus warnings will be written up by the driver if your child is not following the established bus rules.
Bus warnings will be sent home with your child to be signed by a parent/guardian. Parents/guardians will be notified by a building administrator if a child receives a bus warning.
Your support in reinforcing positive bus behavior is greatly appreciated. Our hope is that we are able to work together to provide your child with a safe riding experience each and every day.

Test & Stay Program
We have rolled out our Test and Stay program this past week with great success. This program allows students that are identified as a school-related close contact of a person that tested positive for COVID-19 to remain in school as long as they are asymptomatic. Per DESE (Department of Elementary and Secondary Education), unvaccinated close contacts that are exposed to a COVID-19 positive individual in their household or other non-school setting, must quarantine at home per State and Local guidance and are not eligible for the Test and Stay program at this time. It is important to note that any student that is participating in the Test and Stay program should stay home and quarantine whenever they are not in the school setting for the duration of the Test and Stay period. Students may continue to go to school and participate in their school related after school activities as long as they continue to test negative and remain asymptomatic for 7 full days following the exposure. You will be notified by the school if your child is eligible for the Test and Stay program.
Symptomatic Testing:
Our symptomatic testing program also is underway. With parental consent, we are now able to test students that develop COVID-19-like symptoms during the school day. Please note: students should not come to school if they are feeling sick while at home. Any student that is symptomatic outside of school should follow the illness protocol. Your cooperation with this requirement is essential because it will limit the number of students that could potentially be exposed to COVID-19 and protect our school community for all.
Testing Results:
Students that test positive either as part of the Test and Stay program or as part of symptomatic testing will be required to isolate per state guidelines. It is recommended that the positive antigen test (BinaxNow) be confirmed with a PCR test. You may wish to contact your child's PCP to arrange a PCR test within 48 hours of the antigen test.
For students that test negative as part of the Test and Stay program, as long as they have no symptoms may continue to attend school and as stated above, should stay home and quarantine outside of school hours and activities. For students that participate in athletics and other school related activities that occur over the weekend, testing prior to participation is required and will be arranged as needed.
For students that test negative as part of the symptomatic testing program, depending on the symptom or combination of symptoms, may be able to stay in school, however dismissal and follow up PCR testing will be required in some circumstances depending on the severity of symptoms.
