Principal Post
Sevier students and families,
We hope everyone enjoyed fall break and took some time to relax and unwind from a very eventful first nine weeks. As most of you probably already know, we will be returning on Tuesday in a hybrid model. For this week, students with last names beginning with A-J will attend Tuesday and Wednesday and students with last names beginning with K-Z will attend on Thursday and Friday. Remember this week Monday is a teacher inservice day so no students attend on Monday.
Please remind your student(s) that they must complete work during virtual days or they will be counted absent. Learning continues for students even when they are not physically present in the building. Students should be comfortable logging into Canvas and turning in work electronically. If they have any issues please reach out to a teacher as soon as possible. As another reminder, you should have received login information for Aspen. This is the program that took the place of Powerschool. You should be able to login and check grades for your student(s).
Proud to be a Warrior!
Respectfully,
Kelli Seymour
Principal
RCL Students Returning....Helpful Info
We are so excited to welcome you back to campus at Sevier. We know your student is likely anxious about returning and we wanted to provide you with some important information about Tuesday, Oct. 20 or Thursday, Oct. 22. Our doors open at 7:00 a.m. and you can drop your child off out front anytime after 7:00. The tardy bell rings at 7:45 so students should be in their classrooms ready to get started at 7:45. When students arrive, sixth graders will go to the auditorium and 7th and 8th graders will go to the gym. We will have someone in the hall directing students. Breakfast will be offered to all students. Once students are dismissed to their first period class, we will keep our newly returning seventh and eighth grade students and do a brief orientation and distribute schedules. Sixth grade students and any new students will have a more in-depth orientation, tour of the building, and receive their schedules. We have many students returning this day, so please reassure your child that it will really be like another first day and we will have lots of people to assist and offer support.
SPIRIT WEEK Oct. 20-22...
***Remember the pics you post on Twitter/Instagram should meet dress code!****
Reminders...
- Bring a water bottle that can be refilled. Our refilling stations are open, but the actual water fountains are off to help mitigate the spread of Covid-19.
- Be sure you have your own supplies (pencil, pen, calculator). We will not share supplies this year in an effort to stop the spread of the virus.
- Only use backpack if needed and bring only items you will use in the classroom. We will not be utilizing lockers this year to encourage social distancing in the hallways.
- Students will be asked to walk on the right when in the hall. This should help with social distancing.
