Principals Corner

Panther Nation,

Don't forget to set your clocks back before you go to bed on Saturday night!

We have just finished our 2nd six weeks here at Blanco High School. As a former coach and a current data nerd...I wanted to share a little data with you regarding our students and their performance this last six weeks:

We had 19.45% of our students finish with all A's. This amounts to 71 students for the entire school. 13 9th graders, 16 10th graders, 10 11th graders, and 32 12th graders. We had a total of 128 students (35.06%) of our students with A's and B's. This means we had 199 students or 54.52% of our students were on the Honor Roll for the 2nd six weeks. We have a school full of students who are pushing themselves and bettering themselves each and every day. I think back to last year and it warms my heart to see the progress our students are making each and every day they are here. Every time I make announcements, I finish it with the question of how are they going to be 1% better each and every day. If they have pushed themselves to be 1% each of today, they would be 57% better than the day they started school. If they can find a way to be a little better each day then eventually they will look back and see what great gains they have made throughout the year! Learning is more of a marathon rather than a sprint!

We will be hosting the district Veterans Day Ceremony here at the High School on Thursday, November 11th from 8:30 - 10:30 here at the high school. I will include a flyer below with details but basically, it will start with breakfast for our veterans in our library and then move to the gym for the ceremony. We will also be honoring our students who have already committed to an armed forces branch towards the end of our program.

SENIORS and parents of SENIORS

We are working on celebrating our seniors who have been accepted to any 2-year college, 4-year college/university, trade school, or armed forces. We are going to be hanging banners in the front rotunda for every single acceptance our school has. If your child will come and share their acceptance letters either in person or via email, we will work on a banner that will be proudly displayed around the front entrance to the school. This can start immediately as I know we have some students starting to hear from different places. I really think this will be cool to see and hopefully inspire our underclassmen when they see what our seniors are capable of doing! If you have any questions, please let me know!

Below is the form for Teacher Shout Outs if you have any teachers you would like to make sure know they are loved! We had 8 last week but I would love to double that this week. If you have a teacher or staff member who you think needs to know they are appreciated...please take a moment to fill out the following form.
