A Message from Principal Mrs. Ballarin

With the first semester coming to a close, I would like to ask parents and guardians to continue to encourage their students to remain focused and finish strong in their classes. Final exams are right around the corner, but it is still not too late to take advantage of the time we have left. Students can still participate in tutoring, and talk with teachers to get that extra bit of help down the home stretch.

I would like to thank our students, parents, guardians, staff, and teachers for a great first half of the school year and we look forward to the second half of the school year!

Wishing everyone a healthy, happy and safe holiday!

Go Wolf Pack!

Mrs. Robin Ballarin

The mission of West Hills High School is to graduate critical thinkers and problem-solvers who contribute positively to society as productive, responsible citizens.

West Hills Key Club serving the community

West Hills Key Club has been working all semester helping out our Santee Community. Recently club members have helped Santee Kiwanis at the Santee Tree Lighting making snow cones. Key club members also woke up bright and early to support participants and the Santee Lakes Fishing Derby. Key club meets weekly in room SS10 on Tuesdays during lunch. Students have the opportunity to plan and participate in a variety of service programs around San Diego. They are currently collecting donations of new socks, blankets and sweatshirts for residents of Edgemoor Hospital. Key club is planning on participating with Kiwanis and Amplifying the Urban Forest: SPARC Event in the planting of 65 trees to along Prospect at Olive Lane. For more information about Key Club check our website and instagram.

Final Exam Schedule This Week

Please take a careful look at our Finals Schdule for this week and our last week of the Fall Semester (hard to believe this is here so quickly!)

Monday 12/13 is a late start Collaboration Schedule (as usual).

Final Exams Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday:

Please note all traffic and parking will be affected since our finals schedule is different than our regular day schedule.

Students may attend campus on periods when they do not have a class period and check in at our Study Halls (see main office for locations).

NOTE the end time each day is 12:30 p.m. If a student needs to leave early, as always, bring a note from parent to Attendance in the morning and get a pass to leave campus. DO NOT TEXT PARENT AND JUST LEAVE CAMPUS. YOU WILL BE MARKED TRUANT. This is true every school day, not just Finals week.

We hope you end the semester strong--check out our Tutoring schedule if you need to attend and talk with your teachers. Look at your grades and see what is "missing" or not turned in. You may have grade worthy "gold" in your backpack! Let's go Wolf Pack ...we got this!

Loss of Privilege Policy

Loss of Privilege (LOP) List: This exists to support the idea that our primary function is “Academics First” and that student behaviors and choices need to prioritize attendance and following school rules. Students may earn their way off of the LOP list through attendance at detention and / or Saturday school after talking with their Assistant Principal. They can also lose a privilege that was granted (i.e. serving Saturday School to be eligible to purchase a Dance Ticket, but then repeat actions (or new actions) that put them back on LOP so that attending Dance is no longer available to them and a dance ticket refund is issued).

See our Loss of Privilege Policy HERE.

The Scholarship Club

Students! After graduation, will you be attending a trade school, community college, or 4-year University? If your answer is yes, do you need money to help pay for it? If so, we would like to invite you to attend the Scholarship Club that is hosted by the Counseling Department. At the scholarship club, we will introduce you to scholarship opportunities and provide time to work on scholarship applications under the guidance of a counseling staff member. For additional information, please contact Ms. Womack in the Counseling Office. The club meets Mondays during lunch and period 7 in the College/Career Center (L-1) located across from the library.
