Frontier Parent Newsletter
January News
Note from Miss Rutan:
Welcome back from the holiday break. We have been busy getting back in the swing of things. As a school, things have been going very well. As you can imagine, our biggest concern right now is keeping our students in person and healthy. If your child is not feeling well, we please ask that they are kept home.
In the upcoming semester we look forward to the weather improving and being able to add some school events to the calendar. Stay tuned for a 4th and 5th grade music concert before Spring Break, and a hopeful Spring Fling in May.
Our students are currently working on their winter benchmarks and I'm thrilled with the growth we have seen in just the first semester of school. Thank you for continuing to read with your children at home and supporting their education.
If you have any questions, or concerns please contact me at rutan.katie@westada.org or by phone at (208) 350-4190.
Sincerely,
Katie Rutan
Principal

Important Information
Remote Learning Stress Test
- Which students can access remote learning at home?
- Which students need additional support in learning the remote system for the classroom?
- Which students need additional hardware (hotspots, etc.) to access the remote learning?
On Friday, after early release, we are asking all students to use their device to log in and complete a small and simple task. This will allow us to answer the questions above in order to be prepared in the event that we ever need to move to a remote setting as a school. All devices will be charged and sent home this Friday. Please have your student follow their teacher's instructions to complete the task assigned.
If you are unable to gain access, our teachers will be letting us know so that we can determine next steps for individuals.
NO School - January 17th, February 21st and February 25th
January 17th - Martin Luther King Jr. Day
February 21st - President's Day
February 25th is one of our four collaboration days throughout the year. There will be no school that Friday. Teachers and staff will be collaborating in their teacher teams.Title I Information
Parking Lot Procedures
* Please remain in your vehicle during pick up and drop off. If your child needs assistance, please park and walk them to the sidewalk. This helps keep the line moving for all of our families.
*If a staff member is waving you ahead, please pull forward to allow more cars up to the front drop off and pick up area.
*Children enter at the front of the parking lot and not on the sides, this is for safety. We have numbered signs to help efficiently have students ready for when their parents' car pulls up.
