Trinity Lutheran Church & Academy
April 11 - 17, 2021
There will be a congregational meeting following the 10AM service on Sunday, May 2nd. Due to Covid we have not had a congregational meeting in over a year. Please plan to attend.
The alms fund is getting low and is in need of donations. You can place your donation in the offering plate earmarked "alms fund" or drop it by the church office. Thank you.
FAMILY PROMISE FUNDRAISER
Family Promise f/n/a Interfaith Hospitality Network of Athens is a non-profit organization that provides shelter, food and emergency services to families with children facing the crisis of homelessness. The Family Promise program has continued to serve the Athens community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Trinity Lutheran is a supporting congregation for this program. Family Promise is in need of the following items: paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags (the large 33 gallon as well as the tall kitchen bags), laundry detergent, paper plates, cups and plastic utensils, cleaning supplies (disinfectant wipes, dish washing soap, sponges and sheets (twin or queen size). I will be collecting these items for Family Promise until May 2. Please bring in these items and put them in the Gathering Room. The Family Promise office is still closed, so you will not be able to take your items directly to them. On May 2 there will be a collection basket in the Gathering Room if you would like to donate money to Family Promise. If you have any questions, please contact Jo-Ann Thorne 706-202-2740.
Technology on the Rise
Trinity is in need of a technology committee to investigate what we need to get us more up to date with the times. If you have the gift of knowledge in technology and would like to serve on this committee please contact the church office.
For the FL-GA District LWML Mite Boxes for 2020-2022 there are 14 grants and the total is $96,093.85. We have already disbursed $22,000 as of 2/12/2021. An important one is the Outreach and engaging University Students. Don't forget to put your change in your Mite Box.
