10th Graders: The PSAT will be given at Buckhorn High School on Wednesday, October 11th. The PSAT is a pre-test for the SAT college entrance exam. In 11th grade, the PSAT is also the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT). Last year, we had two National Merit Finalists that accepted in excess of $250,000 in scholarships! Cost of the PSAT for 10th graders is $20.00, payable in the Guidance Office.
11th Graders: The state of Alabama will pay for you to take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 11th. The state will only pay for Juniors to take the PSAT, 10th graders pay the $20 registration fee. The PSAT is an important test because it is the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Several scholarships are based on scores from the PSAT/NMSQT. Don't miss this opportunity to take the test for free and practice for the state funded ACT in March. 11th graders must sign up to take the test, registration lists will be sent around in classes.

Sign Up to Round Up!
The Round Up Program was started by The Schools Foundation and Huntsville Utilities to support local public school systems. The Schools Foundation is a funding partner of Madison County Schools. The more residential and commercial locations that round up, the more funding we can receive. Estimates show that if just half of the residential Huntsville Utilities users rounded up, it would generate approximately $500,000 to support our schools! By rounding up your utility bill to the nearest dollar each month, you help invest in the future of our students!
You can easily sign up to round up online:
http://www.hsvutil.org/myhsvu…/checkbill/roundup/signup.html
It might be a penny, it might be 25 cents, it might be 99 cents, but it will be no more than $11.88 a year. It takes less than 1 minute to fill out.
Thank you for supporting one of our community partners! Go Bucks!
