Woodglen Paw Press

To kick off our year in the art room, 4th and 5th grade students engaged in a Collaborative Doodle Drawing activity. This team building activity required all of the students to work together and communicate as a group. Students were asked to draw simple images but the challenging part was they could only draw their picture using a marker that each team member helped to control by pulling on an attached piece of string. Not only did students communicate to collaborate but they also had to coordinate their actions in order to create a successful image. This activity was a wonderful way for students to work together and gain an understanding of the importance of community.

Felicity is in Mrs. Ansons’ class. She likes the color gold. She wants to learn math. She enjoys vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles. Her favorite movie is The Little Mermaid.

John is in Mrs Teichman’s class. He likes the color blue. He loves chocolate ice cream with M&M’s. He enjoys learning everything. He enjoys watching Danny Go.

Manpreet's teacher is Ms. Melton. She loves the color blue chocolate ice cream and Physical Education. She is looking forward to learning Math. She has the same birthday as Mrs. Ober.

Katherine's teacher is Mrs. Rosenblum. She looks forward to learning to read. She enjoys Art at Woodglen. Her favorite ice cream is vanilla and her favorite color is pink.

Patrick's favorite color is red and he enjoys hockey. He likes chocolate brownie swirl ice cream. He likes to do everything at Woodglen. His teacher is Ms. Hirshler.

Gideon's favorite color is red. He enjoys hockey. He likes chocolate ice cream. He wants to learn everything. He also has Ms. Hirshler.

Kwame enjoys Texas Roadhouse. It has a lot of Texas barbecue and is very delicious. He loves the fresh-baked bread and honey cinnamon butter. He loves the ribs and ice cream sundaes.

"It is better than Outback Steakhouse," says Kwame.

Rowen loves Brazilian jiu-juitsu. Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a self-defense, martial art and combat sport based on grappling, ground fighting, and submission holds. You do not kick or punch. He does it at Renzo Gracie.

Lucas is a student in Ms. Maguires class. He loves Basketball. His favorite player is Immanuel Quickley. He plays on Basketball Empire State Storm Travel Team. His favorite position is Power Forward. He also plays for CYO.

Talia Nelson is a fifth grade student in Ms. Maguire’s class. This summer she was asked if she wanted to try out for an NFL game as a gymnast because she is talented in gymnastics. She has a brother in kindergarten, a younger sister in fourth grade and an older sister in seventh grade.
