Hudson Hawk Band Updates
December 7-11
Passing of Mr. Robinson
It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing last week of one of our band directors, Mr. Robinson. John Robinson made a profound impact on all of his students and cared for them all deeply. He was selfless and asked before he left Hudson every day, “What else do you need? How can I help?” He was such a calming voice and our time with him was cut much too short.
Telling our students of this tragic news on Friday was by far the hardest day of my career, but listening to their stories and reading the kind words they have to say about him has been so moving. Band is truly like a family and we will lean on each other through this difficult time and make it through.
Losing a spouse, father, teacher, colleague, and friend so suddenly is awful and I know Mr. Robinson's family will be worrying about how to carry on without him. If you can give or share, a GoFundMe has been set up by the friend of his daughter to help the family. https://gf.me/u/zbdaav
Rest In Peace, Mr. Robinson.

Holiday Movie Social Event
We are holding our annual holiday party as 2 outdoor movie nights on either Thursday or Friday, December 10 or 11. We will be showing Elf on Thursday, December 10 at 6:00pm in the grassy area outside the band hall in the back of the school. We will be showing The Polar Express on Friday, December 11 at 6:00pm also in the grassy area outside the band hall in the back of the school.
Only current Hudson Band students are invited to attend and must select one or the other night to attend, NOT BOTH. We will be unable to provide snacks and drinks this year, but students may bring their own if they wish to eat or drink during the movie.
Students will be dropped off at the end of the teacher parking lot (off Miles Rd.), closest to the band hall and will have their temperature taken before leaving their vehicles. Students may bring their own camp chairs, picnic blankets, etc. and MUST wear masks during the event. We will have 6 ft. spacing marked off for students to stay in during the evening. Students may use the restroom inside the building, but will only be allowed in one at a time. All students must be picked up by 8:00pm in the same location as dropoff.
HMS Virtual Holiday Band Concerts

Helpful Info/Reminders
Charms Resolution
Log in to Charms using the school code hudsonsoundmachine and your student's password. Passwords for brand new students should be the student ID with 6 digits only. If you cannot get logged on, please contact Mrs. Becker. She has discovered a new way to reset passwords!
You can click the "finances" button and pay fall band fees using Paypal. If you have logged in and are paying band fees, but your student has a credit on their account, the easiest thing to do is to make a miscellaneous payment. You can specify what the payment is for since it will be for the remaining balance and not the entire Fall fee. Then you can "request a transfer" of that payment to go to the fall fees.
School-owned instrument fees will still be paid in Skyward this year. We are having a little trouble getting that set up correctly since this is a change from previous years. We made some headway last week and hope to be completely set up by the end of this week. Stay tuned for more info!
