Thank you for a WONDERFUL Week 1!
Thank you so sincerely for such a fantastic start to the school year! I keep saying how lucky I feel to be in this community, and this past week confirmed that for me once again. Our students are so lucky to have each and every member of this staff and I look forward to seeing the ways in which we will continue to grow this year.
Flexibility and communication were a huge part of our success this week. Please keep it up! I welcome your feedback at any time and know that I will do everything I can to assure all of our needs are met. Reach out for anything!

Nuts & Bolts
Specials Schedule This is a DRAFT, so if you have any feedback, please share it! We have not added Music or Luna dance, but will do so in the next couple days. We tried to take into account preferences, but if you feel that yours have not been honored, please let me know and we can do some shuffling.
Sign up for a Weekly Check-in with Casey In order to facilitate and support communication, I'd like to set up a weekly check in with each teacher. After you have looked over the Specials Schedule (see above), please email me with a 10 minute time during one of your preps in which we can check in. Please do NOT schedule for Thursdays, as I am off campus at Principal Professional Learning every other Thursday.
Windows When you leave each day, please be sure your windows are closed and locked!

Instruction & Assessments
- Curriculum Needs I am still getting clarity around what needs to be in classrooms for our Williams Audit at the beginning of September, but use this spreadsheet to request any needed materials for Literacy, Math, Social Studies, and Science. This is not a place to request NEW curriculum, simply to name pieces of curriculum that you are missing from your classroom.
SEL Corner
- Be Safe
- Be Respectful
- Be Responsible
We are a PBIS school. All staff are expected to use the Grass Valley Way with students. Be sure that you are communicating in a preventative manner, and not a reactionary one, including using an appropriate tone of voice with all students.
Behavior Flow Chart for Referrals Staff members who send a student to the office should do so based on the normed behaviro flow chart. All students sent to the office should be sent with a URF.
Universal Referral Forms For any student sent to the office, we should receive a URF. This is how we will communicate with families about the incident and track data on students' needs.
Pre-Referral Intervention Guide This guide shares information and examples about each of the pre-intervention techniques listed on the URF.
