Principal's Update - April 2017
Why Board Games are so Good for Kids
Send in Your New/Used Shoes in April
The shoes can be any type: kids or adults - sneakers, shoes, flip flops, etc.
Even damaged shoes are accepted because they repaired or the material is reused. Check out the video below!
Thank you to third grader Preeta for leading this initiative with Mrs. Cimorelli and Mrs. Schmidt!
Gifted and Talented Screening Process
All K-7 students are screened for eligibility to receive gifted and talented services during the 2017-2018 school year. We recognize that parents/guardians possess valuable information about the learning characteristics of their children.
Parent Input forms for G&T are currently available in each building and at www.ltps.org. Go to Admin, Office of Instructional Services, Special Programs, Gifted and Talented. Scroll down and click on Parent Inventory Form.
Parent/Guardian forms must be received by May 1, 2017
Please contact Mrs. Muzi, K-3 Elementary Enrichment Specialist/GT Teacher, at jmuzi@ltps.org, if you have any additional questions.
Bus Expectations are as easy as the ABC's
We also introduced students to our Bus Leaders. Bus Leaders are third grade volunteers who help students board buses safely in the afternoon, model appropriate bus behavior, and provide feedback to BF staff about bus rides.

#stbaldricks Student Winners!
On March 11, 11 students, teachers, and family members joined together as Team Ben Franklin to shave our heads in support of the 10th Annual Lawrenceville St. Baldrick’s fundraising event at Almalfi’s restaurant. Our shavees this year were teachers Mr. Rude, Mr. Gallagher, and Mr. Yates along with students Elliot F., Benjamin C., Henry S., Filipe S., Liam G., Mikah G., and parents Casey Faiman and Jose Corado. Once again, Mr. Meurer had his head painted by students. Great job, Team BF!
We are very happy to announce that this year’s event gathered 252 participants and volunteers and raised a grand total of $153, 217. That makes a 10 year total of $1,128,505 for this event!
Team Ben Franklin played a big part in achieving this amazing total by surpassing our team goal and raising $5,038!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the members of our community who contributed and supported us for this incredibly important cause. We couldn’t have done it without your help!
