January Newsletter
SMS Counseling Program
Welcome Back Seahawks!
Happy New Year! We hope all of you had a restful and joyous Winter Break. I wanted to share that our monthly newsletters will continue to be available in our Counselor Canvas Course. Also, student’s monthly social emotional lessons are assessable on the counselor course and they have a month to complete them either during NEST or their own time (there is no grade for the lessons). As a reminder I will continue to be available for counseling support in-person, via phone or virtually. The counseling referral link to seek counseling is available below and contact info.
Stay Well,

Welcome Counselor Intern- Alex Farias
Hello,
I am Alexi Farias, I earned my Associates degree at Saddleback community college in Liberal
Studies, I also graduated from California State University, Fullerton with my Bachelor’s in
Sociology and I am currently pursuing my Master’s in School Counseling with a PPS
Credential. I am from Mission Viejo, California and have lived here since third grade. I was
previously interning at JSerra Catholic High School for my 100 hours of practicum and was
also able to complete 150 hours of my fieldwork hours at JSerra. I attended CUSD from
elementary school to high school, so being able to go back and intern is very exciting. During
my free time I like to watch the show FRIENDS, shop, take naps, work out, hike, and hang out
with friends and family. Looking forward to interning with Ms. Avendano and helping each
student pursue their life and educational goals.
