Congratulations - Literary Team
The Literary Team competed in the State Championship in Buford this past weekend and took the overall runner-up for the meet!
Individual 1st place wins -
Girls Solo (Teagan Durham) and International Extemporaneous Speaking (Taryn Mareau)
2nd place
Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking (Maggie Haggarty)
3rd place -
Trio (Leah Brown, Emma Jira, Taryn Mareau) and
Duo Interp (Emma Jira, Dakota Youngblood)!

Holly Springs Oratorical Contest
Last week, Sequoyah hosted the Holly Spring Oratorical Contest. Some of our best orators competed, delivering dynamic speeches.
Congratulations to Junior Jessica Ryan, who placed third, to Senior Taryn Mareau, who placed 2nd, and to Junior Tristan Barber who, for the third year, received first place.
Both Taryn and Tristan will compete in the region contest on Saturday, March 25th at Court House in Downtown Canton, competing for scholarships and the opportunity to move to the District level.
Thank you to the English department for encouraging your students to participate in this opportunity!
