Annual Monitoring and Local Literacy Plans Due February 15, 2019

Your local literacy plan has been your vision for district literacy improvement and a guide for your grant goals. Your updated plan also serves as part of the annual monitoring for the Striving Readers Grant. Annual Monitoring will be an evaluation of the assurances of the grant. The chart below shows that much of the documentation needed from you is included in the Local Literacy Plan or managed through GMS.

Please upload your revised Local Literacy Plan and a sample of the Time and Effort log you are using for personnel paid for by the Striving Readers grant at the link below:

Partnership Webinars

OSRCL hosted a webinar with Clinton Public Schools highlighting Clinton's Parents As Reading Partners (CPARP), Family English classes, and Clinton's work with their local literacy team.

You can view the recording of the 30-minute webinar here and the presentation slides here. The slides include links and resources that may be helpful. During the webinar, Stephanie Hime and Tonya Gaunt referenced a policy brief from NEA entitled Parent, Family, and Community Involvement in Education that outlines an inclusive approach to family and community engagement which was used to support their work.

In May 2018, OSRCL hosted a partnership webinar with Oklahoma City Public Schools about how they utilize early childhood partnerships. You can find that recording here and the presentation slides here.

Please let the OSRCL staff know about any early childhood, family, or community activities happening in your district. We would love to highlight more districts soon.
