Message from the Principal...

Each week that goes by I think to myself..."Man, I couldn't be more grateful to be part of such an amazing community!" And then another week passes and I am again amazed at how incredible our Emmons tribe really is! In the midst of everything, I want to encourage you all to take a moment and recognize how fortunate we are to be in this together. Thank you really isn't enough and while things seem unsettled, we certainly have much to be grateful for.

As you know, we are now offering a daily health screener via PowerSchool. Thanks for your help in completing this each day prior to your child arriving to school. If you are still having difficulty completing the screener, please contact the office and our amazing secretaries will help get you set up. Please note, you do not need to complete the paper screener each day. We are asking all families to have one copy of this signed form on file as an extra layer of documentation. If you have already turned one in, thank you. If you haven't yet, we will be sending home another copy this week for you to sign and return. We appreciate all the phone calls to the office letting us know if your child is ill or experience symptoms. This helps us to ensure the safety and well-being of all our families.

Drop off and pick up is improving. Thank you to our students who are learning their numbers and our staff for helping to get kids safely to our families. We continue to reflect each day and make improvments as necessary.

To those picking up students: please remember to keep your number clearly displayed the entire time. In addition, please work together to pull all the way forward throughout the line. We know it seems like a few feet between cars won't matter, but with traffic backing up, every little bit helps. Lastly, we want to encourage those with older students (and younger siblings of older students) to consider arriving at 3:50 for pick up. This will allow our youngest students to be dismissed first. Right now, our pick up process is ending by 4:00. Considering we don't dismiss from school until 3:45, this is an awesome turn around time focused on student safety. Thanks in advance for all your support and smiles during this process.

Lastly, we hope you enjoyed the video above. When thinking of all the efforts being made by our students, families, teachers, support staff, and Cal community, it really seemed to capture all the feelings. Thank you to all for your part in making this an amazing year.

Grateful to Serve With You,

Mrs. Schultz
