Brownbag Session: Strategic Framing
A new approach to explaining social issues to the public
Presented by Michael Baran, Senior Researcher and Associate Director of Special Projects
FrameWorks Institute advances the nonprofit sector's communications capacity by identifying, translating and modeling relevant scholarly research for framing the public discourse about social problems.
An independent nonprofit organization founded in 1999, FrameWorks has become known for its development of Strategic Frame Analysis ™, which roots communications practice in the cognitive and social sciences. FrameWorks designs, conducts, and publishes multi-method, multi-disciplinary communications research to empirically identify the most effective ways of reframing social and scientific topics.
One of the topics FrameWorks Institute has been working on since 2001 is Early Childhood Development (ECD) and how communications about brain development in young children influences public attitudes and policy preferences.
