The Official Newsletter of the FBA Library

Welcome!

Welcome to the first edition of the new FBA Library newsletter. I'm going to use this as a way of communicating with you information about the goings on in the library throughout the year. Included will be a few tech tips I've stumbled across, new titles I've added to the library collection, and important information about the library's digital access. If you have any questions or comments, please let me know!

Tech Tip

Try a digital field trip to visit a place you might not be able to see otherwise. Programs like Google Earth and virtual museum tours are a great way for kids to visit places they may never have thought to visit. Just be sure you plan ahead...field trips have a purpose and you need to set out the guidelines ahead of time. See my wiki (fbawarriortech.wikispaces.com) for a few files to help guide you through the creation of a digital field trip.

Featured App

Trading Cards for iPad - Create digital trading cards for anyone. The app is free and makes a fun research project for an individual. Create a class set of heroes at the Alamo or our Founding Fathers for a neat biography project and a fun way for the kids to present their topic!
