Beyond the Books...

Children are active learners! When they are not working on academic tasks or cooperative activities, they need to be running, jumping, rolling and exploring. Our school gym is set up to meet their sensory needs and encourage healthy habits. Fields trips are planned year-round to enrich learning and broaden horizons.

Who are LARK students?

Our vision is to create a place where students can thrive regardless of their developmental or behavioural challenges. Children between the ages of 4-6 are sometimes overlooked in the public school system, placed in large groups with minimal support, or pushed to the margins because of disruptive behaviour, so LARK opened especially with these children in mind.

A diagnosis is not necessary for enrollment, but our classes would be suitable for children with Autism (including Aspergers and PDD-NOS), and behavioural diagnoses such as Attention Deficit Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder.
